Finally...

After 8 long months of not knowing if we were going or staying a decision has been made. We are moving to Princeton, New Jersey in November(hopefully). David accepted the position this morning and will be officially hired after the drug screen and background check.

We made a last minute road trip to Princeton on Sunday to visit a church some of our friends who used to live there recommended to us. We really liked it, the people were friendly, the preaching was good and there are lots of home school families. We will try out the other two churches they also told us about and figure out which one is closest to where we might live before we make and final decisions.

Our plans as of today are to rent an apartment and move our things slowly, unless our house sells fast and we find the perfect house up there. We don't see this happening due to the economy and the price of housing in New Jersey. I am rather picky in what I want and David wants land for his garden and a house that needs no work done to it. I see us building again at some point.

Who knows, for now I am just getting this house ready to sell. I have some siding to wash, yard work to be done, and a front door that needs some attention. Inside there are walls and windows to wash, some painting that needs to be done and a laundry room that still isn't finished. I think I also might pack up some of the toys to try and keep down the mess and make it easy to clean up at a moments notice.

It is SO nice to have an answer to our waiting. We are excited to see where God is leading us as we move again. Hopefully we will stay put for a LONG time!

What's going on

Where have we been and what have we been up to? I am sure you are asking, it's been so long since I have posted anything! Sometimes life moves at warp speed and I even wonder where it went! So in a bullet format since its easier here is a short recap.

*Canning and freezing. One of these days I'll get some pictures and also make a list of what I did so I can have it for next year. I can tell you it is so nice to go into the basement and see those shelves lined with food!

*trip to my parents over Labor day to rest before we started school back 5 days a week.

*school starting again and realizing that one of my children has some learning issues that have always been there but are more noticeable with the new material. It takes us hours to get through his lessons. We are looking into options and things we can do to help him with this. It has been such a learning experience. I will post more on this later I am sure. We will be dealing with it for quite some time.

*consignment sale preparation! This takes time to hang and tag everything but it was so worth it. I was up until 2:30 every night for a week before labor day just so we could go to my parents. I made enough money to get the slip covers for the furniture in the front room, and new curtain rods in the dining room. The cat has successfully pulled out a couple from the wall. I will be buying something much sturdier! tThere is more but I am saving it for now(it was a good sale).

*cleaning out extras: It seems like I am always cleaning out something but with possibility of moving I am trying to keep things to a minimum here.

*Over the summer I took in the neighbors boy 3 days a week. Well, it was supposed to be three days but with so much rain I never knew if he would come or not(his dad mow lawns). This caused added stress to my ordered world. I do feel it was the right thing to do as he comes from a broken home and LOVES being here, but I won't be doing it again nextr summer if he asks. The benefit and much of the reason I decided to do it in the first place is because I earned enough money to purchase a new camera!!! I just got it a couple of weeks ago and haven't even had time to install the software on the computer or play with it much. I am looking forward to sharing some photos again soon!

*Stress: This is probably the number one reason I have been laying low this summer. every week, no every day there is something new to think about with David's work situation. As the merger draws nearer the tension gets thicker. It is supposed to happen sometime in October. In the meantime he has had countless phone interviews, 4 on-site interviews, and possibly two more. We are both so tired of it all and yet must keep living as normal as possible. There is always that if in the background and it wears us down.

*My way of dealing with it is to do projects and keep busy. If you saw the house you would think we were staying forever! David does not understand this method of dealing with stress, he goes to the gym. At least we both have something to show for it! :)

*I have lots of projects I am working on. As I finish them I will put photos up for you to see. The only thing I haven't managed to work on is my scrap booking. Hopefully that will come as it gets colder.

So that's what I have been up to. I guess it ended up being longer than I thought. Please pray for us as the merger draws near, I see things getting worse before they get better. The best part will be just knowing what we are doing and where we are going, and that still could take months.
